Our Story

The story of Good Points Acupuncture began when Carolyn was about 10 years old. Her grandmother had a major stroke and was wheelchair bound for almost a year. All the physical therapy and conventional doctor visits did not help her improve; if anything, her grandmother was getting worse.

Carolyn’s family decided to invite an acupuncturist to their home in the Bay Area to help treat her grandmother. Carolyn vividly remembers that the acupuncturist put needles in her grandmother’s head in their kitchen, and after only 20 minutes, the Doctor instructed her grandmother to stand up from the wheelchair and walk. She did just that. Carolyn’s grandmother stood up for the first time that year and was able to use her own legs to walk herself across the kitchen! At that age, Carolyn knew the healing power of acupuncture. She didn’t know at that time, but she later volunteered for the same acupuncturist that worked on her grandmother in high school, then she went on to work for him, and then worked with him.

After helping countless patients to walk again and improving their well being, Carolyn decided to dedicate her life to improve the lives and health of others just as Dr. Zhu did for her grandmother. Driven by her passion to help people she continues building one of the most caring health practices for the people in the San Francisco Bay Area.
